Since I've been slowly moving away from having a 'persona' to being myself, being proud of myself, the change was perfect. For a long while I was almost... Afraid of having my name out there, worried that should someone dislike what I was posting, it wasn't under 'my' name. Now, I've reached a point where I'm proud of myself and prepared to take the dislike if its given.
Well, I've done my first Runway Show. Back in April, the Angry Woman Cabaret. 11 Ladies walked the Runway [Stage] to showcase my jewelry. They did an amazing job, and I was told by someone that my idea of 'Post Apocalyptic Through The Years' did in fact carry through, which rocks. The show may not have been very large, but I was able to show that I know what I'm doing, am good at it and am professional. All of that helps moving forward.
First, there's the Spokane ComicCon this weekend. Every year I go to this Con and normally, I dress up as Robin. Well, this year... I'm going as Skizzor Girl, a character of my own creation. Annoyingly, I can't find my Government Manual to New SuperHeros... Just the one for Pirates. Oh well, I'll make it all work out.
This next Friday, I'll be walking 12 Brand New, Never before seen pieces, at the RAW Spokane BLEND May Showcase. More elegant then normal, these pieces are more of a mixture of Vintage Elements and Reinventing Jewelry then my normal SteampunkEsque designs.
Don't worry, the change for the RAW Showcase isn't a change in styles for me, just taking on a new idea. A lot of my creativeness and is inspired by what I have in stock. Two very good friends gave me some old jewelry, which was then used to create new pieces of jewelry.
I am also in the middle of putting some pieces into a new location in Atlanta. RuSH Specialty Clothing [link] is a new company working to bring together creatives from around the world and offer their wares for sale, but also to be used in Photo Shoots, Small Movies and just in general support each other. Its an exciting opportunity and I'm thrilled to work with them.
