She smiled into those green eyes she'd loved for so long and lifted a hand to caress the mans face lovingly. It had been a long time, longer then she'd thought it would last. Each day had been another gift.
A chance meeting... Leading to feeling whole for the first time... Leading to a future she hadn't seen coming.
It hadn't always been happy, arguments and tears had at times overwhelmed them, but the one thing they'd never done was leave. They'd fought and struggled with each other, themselves and others around them. But through it all, they'd never walked away. In fact, it had only made them stronger together.
A flash of memories washed over her... The surprise of the first pregnancy, the adorable little green eyed, red haired little girl they'd been blessed with. The arguments with family over their lack of any desire to marry. And then the miscarriage of the second pregnancy, It had also been a surprise and he had held her close through the pain. The boy they'd had two years later they'd tried for, green eyes and red hair, his sister and uncles doted on him as well.
This moment was one she'd dreaded for a lifetime now. Those green eyes sparkled back at her own golden brown ones.
"It's been... Too long a life, but... Not enough time." Mal whispered up to her, wiping away the tears that threatened to fall, his own green ones filling with unshed ones. "But, every minute... Was a blessed and happy one."
Chloe fought her emotions, wanting to be strong for him. "It's not over, not much can really pull us apart." She whispered, as his green eyes closed and the man she loved faded away.

So... Wrote this for a contest. Not sure if it meets the contests requirements, and if not I'll expand on it some I think.
Anywho.. It's a possibility that popped into my head of a long time out. And I do mean a long time. Didn't mention it, but they both have gray hair now.
